Our content curation journey started with connecting children to nature to promote unstructured learning from real-life experiences, make them keen observers, and nurture their hearts and not just their minds. Over time, however, our content also evolved to instill key values, such as time appreciation, emotional resilience, and patience in kids from an early age.
Written in a fun conversational style, between a child ‘Abdu’ and his parents, our books not only influence change in kids but also inspire parents.
Meet the Founder
Ekta Ohri has a background in architecture, visual and critical studies (California College of the Arts), and anthropology (Northwestern University). She has several years of experience applying design thinking to innovating products, services, and systems across sectors. Ekta brings her unique interdisciplinary background to bear while writing and designing her books, conducting author sessions/workshops at schools, and mentoring children.
Ekta is also a mother of a 9-year-old boy who has sensitized her to modern-day parenting challenges and has been the greatest inspiration behind her books and entrepreneurial journey. She also anchors the Book Club meetings in her condominium to promote a love for reading in all age groups.
How LitJoys Journey Began
LitJoys journey began with our’s founder’s explorations with nature and handmade books with her son, followed by a series of family workshops, which led to our first book – My Gulmohar Tree.
