BLOOM BEYOND SCREENS – Spring Camp For Kids

In today’s screen-saturated world, parents are constantly searching for meaningful and engaging screen-free activities for kids. That’s exactly what inspired the Bloom Beyond Screens Spring Camp—an immersive, five-day camp in Gurgaon designed to spark creativity, compassion, and curiosity in children aged 7–14

As a mom and founder of LitJoys, this idea was born from a simple yet familiar phrase from my 11-year-old son: “Mumma, I’m bored.” I wanted to create a camp that would excite children across age groups and genders, while reconnecting them with nature, values, and each other.

Day 1: Shades of Spring – A Nature Treasure Hunt

Inspired by our book City of Stars, kids explored their surroundings through a nature-themed treasure hunt in the park. Using leaves, flowers, and twigs, they created beautiful spring collages—learning to observe and appreciate the natural beauty around them.

Day 2: The Compassion Compass

Based on the Hindi riddle book Pyare Jeevon Ki Pyari Paheliyan, children used magnifying glasses to discover insects, plants, and creatures in the garden. They noted their findings—in Hindi!—on a giant whiteboard, blending compassion, science, and language learning.

Day 3: Time Triumph – Making Every Moment Count

Drawing from the comic book Time Story, this session taught kids how to value time. They created their own “ideal clocks” representing how they’d love to spend time with family—fostering gratitude and awareness around screen use.

Day 4: Noise Busters – Becoming Sound Sleuths

Based on the Save The World game, kids mapped different soundscapes in their surroundings, becoming aware of noise pollution. They created coasters to reflect their own noise footprint—encouraging self-awareness and responsibility.

Day 5: Plate Power – Food Fun for Fussy Eaters

Inspired by the Apple Food Menu Game, this day focused on nutrition and food discovery. After a herb hunt, children made colorful fruit and veggie plates and enjoyed a “Granola Bowl Bonanza.” Mompreneurs Chetna Kapur and Priyanka Mehan joined us with healthy cupcakes and cookies.

Creating Memories That Bloom Beyond Screens

The Bloom Beyond Screens Spring Camp wasn’t just about fun—it was about forging deep, real-world connections. Many parents shared heartfelt feedback, appreciating the unique, age-inclusive experience. Kids walked away with new friends, newfound confidence, and memories rooted in play and purpose.
